A distraught 18-year old girl came up to the front desk and asked if she could borrow the phone. She called her father, who came up to the library immediately after calling the police from his home. He and the police arrived around the same time. They went over to a man who was approximately in his forties and confronted him with the fact that he had been following the girl around the library trying to harass her into going out on a date with him, even though she had told him "no" every time. Somewhere in the conversation the girl's age had come up, and so the man piped up with this as his defense, "I thought she was only twelve."
