Mrs. H

Denise, who was our former assistant librarian, tells the story of a day she answered her front door to find one of our patrons at her front door. She was rather alarmed, not only to find that a patron had found her house, but that the patron was Mrs. H. For a several years Mrs. H had been coming to the library. She saw government conspiracies everywhere. Sometimes she would "hide" away and then come into the library and let us know that if any of her requests came in we could find her at such-and-such hotel under the name of some movie starlet (like Marilyn Monroe or Jayne Mansfield). She was also known to see the police behind her car and thinking they were after her, she would take off driving 90 miles an hour. Of course then the police would be after her.

 

This particular day she had taken it into her head that she needed to get back to 1925 to change some historical event so that the government wouldn't be so screwed up. Of course the only person who could get her back to 1925 was Denise, so she evidently had followed her home.

 

Mrs. H grabbed a hold of Denise's arm and proceeded to drag her toward her car so that they could begin on their journey. Fortunately Denise's husband was home and was able to rescue her.
